GBV Observatory · country source map

Updated 11 October 2026. This map records sources and their limits, not a certification of every article or dataset. Publication dates belong to individual records; the access review date below is 11 October unless otherwise stated. Sources are checked for original reporting, copied statements, date definitions and privacy risks.

How to read this page

The first table lists sources already used or directly reviewed in Observatory work. A country appearing here does not mean its coverage is complete, or stronger than another country’s.

Several outlets may trace back to the same police, court or institutional statement; when they do, they remain one source lineage rather than several independent confirmations. The later Sources still being checked table is a discovery queue: those sources may be useful, but their presence there does not mean their material has been accepted into case totals.

A police or prosecution source is authoritative for its own action or allegation, not proof of guilt. Multiple copies of one statement remain one lineage. Official aggregates, service contacts, surveys and individually indexed events use different units and must remain separate. Social media is a lead source requiring corroboration.
