How to read the numbers
- Fatal figures count people.
- Serious non-fatal figures count distinct incidents, not survivor headcounts.
- Zero indexed does not mean zero violence. It means no case has currently been entered in this register for that period.
- Country totals are not directly comparable. Source availability, reporting systems and research depth differ.
